Vintage Cray Research keyboard (made by Ampex)
This Cray Research keyboard that was manufactured by Ampex is the first keyboard I bought for historical interest sake and is NOT a keyboard for which I have the matching terminal. I’d love to be able to find the matching Ampex Dialogue 80 terminal that was probably rebadged for Cray Research as well but I’m sure that will be even harder to find.
This keyboard has “Clare CP” switches that were surprisingly found to be the “foam and foil” type. I have other Keytronic “foam and foil” switches that have round foam capacitive key pads that I’ve had to replace on my Apple Lisa, Processor Technology Sol-20 and TRS-80 Model II but these are uniquely square.
Here are some pics.
